PETCO plans to donate $200,000 to build an education center at Stray Rescue of St. Louis’ new $3 million headquarters in downtown St. Louis.

Representatives from the national pet store chain plan to present Stray Rescue founder Randy Grim with a check at 10 a.m. Friday.

So far, the majority of large donations for the new 17,000-square-foot shelter have come from out-of-state businesses, Grim said.

Phase one of the center includes a trauma center and vet clinic, 69 dog runs, a parvovirus treatment unit, administrative offices and the education center…
