One of the HAUTEST Houses of HAUTE Couture, Balenciaga... is going to the dogs!!!

According Eric Wilson at The New York Times, that is!!!

Over at the bright Balenciaga showroom today, retailers and editors were examining the merch up close, including the show-opening chunky knit black jacket and vests that are made of silk and wool cord wrapped in faux leather. The vests are expected to cost about $10,000, but the jacket may not be produced. It weighs about seven pounds.

In one corner of the showroom, a display of accessories included a new addition to the Balenciaga line: dog leashes and collars in fluorescent rose, yellow, green and orange versions, made of calfskin and vegetal leather. About a year ago, Nicolas Ghesquiere, the designer, acquired a dog, a chocolate Labrador named Fred.

The leashes will cost from $275 to $295, as will the collars.
